At Brywood we have many years experience in the timber window and door industry working with some of the best manufacturers of high performance timber windows and doors in the country. Since 2010 Brywood has been involved in refurbishment, repair & draught proofing of existing sash windows and doors, Brywood can supply and fit new timber windows and doors but to try and save our clients money and to make less impact on the environment we can also repair & draught proof existing sash windows rather than replacement.
Sash Window Draught Proofing (Brush pile system)
This includes removal of loose or flacking paint, a full service, replacement sash cords, new sash window furniture (if required), Brush pile installed to top, bottom, and meeting rails of the sash and timber parting & staff bead with a pre-installed draught proofing carrier and pile.
Sash Window Draught Proofing (Non brush system)
This includes removal of loose or flacking paint a full service, replacement sash cords, new sash window furniture (if required), standard weather-strip installed to top, bottom and meeting rails of the sash, PVC parting bead & timber staff bead with a pre-installed standard weather-strip. Some clients prefer the non brush system as after time with redecoration if the brush pile comes in contact with paints it can become less effective.
Sash Window Repairs
Sash window sill replacement: As the sill bears the brunt of the elements it is quite common for rot to set in this area of the window. Brywood can remove the existing sill and replace with a complete new hardwood sill section which can allow the rest of the window to remain fully serviceable.
Replacement Sash: In the case that a sash has rot quite often a single section of timber can be replaced allowing the majority of the original sash to be conserved. In the case were it is uneconomical to repair the existing sash Brywood can supply and fit a new sash in the existing frame.
Sash Window Double Glazing
Double glazing existing sash windows: This service involves removing single glazing, rebating the original sash and installing a slim double glazed unit within. Counterbalancing and draught proofing then takes place. We can supply new sash window furniture and security restrictors (if required).
Manufacture and fit double glazed sashes: Sashes are installed into original frame to match like for like. In some instances double glazing the existing sash is not possible, therefore we need to manufacture new sashes to fit original frames. This service comes inclusive of a draught proofing system.
